1. earn one's living 谋生

2. after all
1.表示“尽管怎样，但还是……”，可译为“终究”、“毕竟”(通常放在句末)。
如：
I was right after all. 毕竟是我对。
He tried for an hour and failed after all. 他试了一个钟头，终究还是失败了。
2. 表示“别忘了”(通常放在句首)。如：
I know he hasn’t finished the work but, after all, he’s very busy.
我知道他还没做完工作，但别忘了他很忙。
费玉清千里之外注：不要将after all 理解为“最后”、“终于”，而与finally 或at last 混淆。
3. in debt欠债；负债
典句观察:
I am in your debt. 我欠你很多。

作“如此…以致”解，连接一个表示结果的状语从句。与so...that ...意思相同，但用法不同。如：so...这一结构中，so后边可加形容词或副词，而such后边要用名词（这个名词前面可以带形容词，也可以不带）。因此，的句型结构可分以下三种：
1) such＋a(an)＋adj.＋单数可数名词＋that clau
He is such a clever boy that everybody likes him.
2)such＋adj.＋复数可数名词＋that clau
They are such interesting novels that I want to read them once again.
3)such＋adj.＋不可数名词＋that clau
He has made such great progress that the teachers are plead with him.
注意：如果such后边的名词前由many、much、few、little等词所修饰的话，则不用such而用so。例如：
He had so many falls that he was black and blue all over.
He had so little education that he was unfit for this job.
There were so many people in the street watching the fire that firefighters could not get cl
o to the building.
So...的句型结构可分以下三种：
1)so＋adj.／a d v.＋that clau（so的后面跟形容词或副词）
He runs so fast that nobody can catch up with him.
2) so＋adj.＋a(an)＋单数可数名词＋that clau
Dr. Wang is so good that everybody loves and respects him.
(=He is so good a doctor that everybody loves and respects him.
=He is such a good doctor that everybody loves and respects him.)
5.look forward to ：期待，盼望后面接名词或者动名词。
I look forward to your good news.
