It is a habit that whenever chatting with friends, I’ll unconsciously shift the topic into things of the pasd days. I feel somehow warm and obtain solace from this. However, the number of my friends just decread, from only a few person. Its a great loss to lo any single one of them. Whenever news about their deaths came to me, I would be depresd for a long time.
The merits of going to school are not only to obtain knowledge, but also chances to make friends. I came to realize this only after graduation, especially the years during which I deeply regret not having realized it earlier so that I could cherish more of my careless days in school. Recently, when I walk on the street in the morning or evening, eing couple of students passing by with bags on their back and hands on each others shoulder, I would admire their joy for having friends and I wish them all to keep this joy forever.

For example, Shakespeare, I planned to ud 20 years to translate his works out of my teaching time, 2 per year. But it finally turned out to be 30 years instead due to my laziness. I can hardly accomplish my work if I’m not able to live such a long time. Though other works are scheduled after that, my physical condition cannot keep up with my mind.No matter doing what, physical health is always of fundamental importance. Only if I motivate mylf to do more that I may achieve more! But its too late to regret.
Another example is that a Chine should always try to read more traditional inscriptions. But it was not until I was over 30s that I realize its significance. I did read carefully and circled out the puzzling points, but only some times. Start to read Yi in your fifty, you may not miss too much. But its too embarrassing that I, in my 80s, still don’t know a bit of Yi.

The history of Silk Road could dates back to the 2nd century BC, when an official named Chang Qian from the Chine court embarked on as an envoy to visit the western countries, all along the road that links Asia and Europe. The Silk Road start from city Chang An (the Capital city of then dynasty, which is today’s Xi’an), and then Shan Xi province, then He Xi Corridor of Gan Su province, Terim Basin of Xi Jiang Province, Pamir mountain, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq and Syria and all the was to the eastern cost of Mediterranean. Abundant of historical relics, splendid landscape and intoxicating cultures made this long journey the most exciting attractions. Many ethnic minorities dwelling along the silk road, treating tourists from other countries with hospitality. The food and handicrafts here differ from the in central China. And so as the folklore here, which were marvelous and attractive.

Kuaizi (chopsticks) are the most special Chine eating tools.
For thousands of years, we Chine regard kuaizi as the simplest and efficient tool to fetch food from the bowl to mouth. As early as in the Zhou Dynasty (11-3 century BC), people ud kuaizi to pick up meat and vegetable dishes while their hands were for fetching rice.
Kuaizi in that time is not called as today, but “zhu”, which has the same sound as another Chine character that means “stop”. But “zhu” was forbidden to mention on the boat, for its not auspicious for a boat to “stop”. Therefore, people change the “zhu” to “kuai” that means fast. Later on, people appended to “kuai” a suffix “zi”, just as what we did to many other kitchen tools, like “beizi”(cups), “panzi”(plates), “guozi”(pots). Kuaizi in all parts of China has virtually the same size, but they are made of different materials, which may verifies from bamboo, wood to lacquer, jade, ivory, plastic, aluminum, silver and gold.
