Bill working as if his life depended on that theme.
Bill had been working as if his life depended on that theme.
Why does he call home once a week? To keep in touch with his family.
He calls home once a week to keep in touch with his family.
After I finished my homework.
After I finished my homework, I began to watch TV.
There is still some likelihood of not succeeding in passing the exam. Although he tries very hard.
There is still some likelihood of not succeeding in passing the exam although he tries very hard.
I look forward to holidays. For example, Thanks giving and Christmas.
I look forward to holidays, for example, Thanks giving and Christmas.
I have many hobbies. Including tennis, chess, and golf.
[正] I have many hobbies, including tennis, chess, and golf.
.1. 4以who,that和which引起的从句残缺句
That good books can give us pleasure and knowledge.
It is claimed that good books can give us pleasure and knowledge.
There are some people. Who think that one should not hesitate to say no.
There are some people who think that one should not hesitate to say no .
Cheerleaders always have and always will do their best to stimulate enthusiasm at the games.
Cheerleaders always have done and always will do their best to stimulate enthusiasm at the games.
Mr. William has confidence and ambition for his son.
Mr. William has confidence in and ambition for his son.
There are not sufficient brands for students to choo.
There are not sufficient brands for students to choo from.
The suggestion you made is more feasible than Mary made.
The suggestion you made is more feasible than the one Mary made.
She wrote him a love letter he answered it in person.
She wrote him a love letter. He answered it in person.
I was sick with the flu, I still had to study for the test.
I was sick with the flu; I still had to study for the test.
The exam was postponed the class was cancelled as well.
The exam was postponed; the class was cancelled as well.
3.3两个句子若平等重要,也可用并列连词and,but,or,for,yet,so等连成并列句。
Tom decided to stop smoking he didn't want to die of cancer.
Tom decided to stop smoking, for he didn't want to die of cancer.
She had a wig on, it looked more like a hat than a wig.
She had a wig on, and it looked more like a hat than a wig.
3.4可根据句子内容将其中的一部分用主从连词becau,when,while,since,even though,even if,as soon as,although, but,when和if等变成从句。
Andy forgot the time he misd the final exam.
Becau Andy forgot the time, he misd the final exam.
或 Andy misd the final exam becau he forgot the time.
The item you requested is no longer available we are returning your check.
The item you requested is no longer available; therefore, we are returning your check.
e.g. I am quite willing to help and so are the others.
e.g. Society has changed and so have the people in it.
