1 Introduction
The transformational leadership theory is a new theory of charismatic leadership developed in the 1980s following the leadership trait theory, leadership behavior theory, leadership contingency theory. The transformation leadership theory since have produced, has been the focus of leadership rearch.
Transformational leadership is an innovation process. In this process, the individuals integrate with each other and establish a relationship to enhance the enthusiasm and moral awareness of the leader and followers, thus creating performance beyond expectations. It can be en that transformational leadership theory is bad on such a hypothesis: our human beings are not only driven by our own interests, but also driven by our emotions, values, and various norms that we adhere to in contact with others. Transformational leadership has something to do with the performance of followers and also the greatest potential that followers play. Transformation leader has very strong intrinsic value n an
d concept system, they can effectively motivate followers to achieve the organization's best interests rather than the interests of individuals. Transformational leadership has a significant impact on the attitudes of the organization members, establishes a commitment to the organization's goals or mission (Thomason et al, 2016).
After introducing the definition of leadership, the core of leadership phenomenon, this paper sums up five sub dimensions of the transformational leadership theory according to discussion of many scholars about the transformational leadership characteristics. And on the basis of lf-understanding, the modern framework of transformational leadership is refined as two factors, visionary leadership and risk taking. And then the 2015 Volkswagen emission scandal is taken as an example to to prent the importance of visionary leadership and the risks of enterpri leaders.
2 The definition and core of leadership
Some rearchers define leadership as a character or a behavior, while some other scholars study leadership in the perspective of politic or humanism conception. Some sch
olars regard leadership as a psychological phenomenon, while some others consider leadership a kind of social phenomenon. As to what leadership is, there is still no unified interpretation, different rearchers gave different explanation.关于爱国的电影
Although there are many ways to define the leadership, some elements are considered to be the core of leadership: (1) Leadership is a process, including behavior and influence, which shows a strong tendency of followers to follow and obey their leader. (2) Leadership is a process of artistic creation. Environment of the organization is ever-changing and the subordinate is also vastly different. The higher the position, the more likely the leader face more complex and uncertain factors, how to artistically drive the changes through the leadership, becomes the core of leadership. (3) All leadership behaviors are performed to achieve the target. Leadership is the behavior that has a very strong purpo, its purpo is to make people spare no efforts to achieve the goal of organization or group on the basis of meeting the individual needs (Sirkwoo et al, 2016). Transformational leaders believe they can make a difference, maintain a high degree of nsitivity to change and open some new horizons which condens centripetal force of subordinates. They are eager to some changes, keep highly nsitive to the things before their changes, and are clearly affected and driven by the corporate vision. Transformational leadership’s discontent and restless on the reality is the power for the enterpri to achieve successful business transformation.
