Warm-up activities
1). Group discussion:
梦想的句子Step 1:  Ask students to discuss the topic of “a good heart ” in groups; such as:  What do u think a good heart is? Is it still existing in today’s society? And so on.
Step 2:  Ask the reprentatives of 2 or 3 groups to report the result of their discussion to the class.
2). Class discussion:
Summarize the answers to the questions.
Understanding the text
1. Why do you think people stare at the father and the son?
2. What is the difference between how the son felt about his father as a youth and how he feels many years later?
3. Now read the story. How clo did you come to knowing the answers before you read the whole story.

Enrichment reading:
The particular reading skill introduced for this unit is reading for the key ideas in ntences. To find out the key idea of a ntence, we have to remember the three important points: 1 Ask who or what the ntence is about. 2. Ask what the person or object is doing or what is happening to the person or object. 3. Learn to parate minor details from the main ideas.
Structured Writing
Practice writing a paragraph, which starts with a general point with some examples to support it. The general points are offered as topics to choo from.

通过学习,学生能把握课文中的重点单词及重点句型 。 通过批改学生作业,可验证课堂教学已达到预期的目标。
