英语中,形容词短语作定语需要位于被修饰的名词之后,可以转换成定语从句。

尤其令人称奇的是印加人的干石建筑法。
【句型】这是一个倒装结构,因语篇衔接和语义需要而使用,表语especially amazing 前置是为了突出和强调。

Higher up was an old castle where a king once lived.
=An old castle where a king once lived was higher up.
再往高处去就是一座旧城堡,一位国王曾在此居住。
归纳总结
在一个主系表结构中,若主语是名词,则可以将表语提前构成一个全部倒装结构。

other than“除了(不包括在内)”,相当于except。besides也是“除了”的意思,但往往是包括在内。试比较:
Last night all the other students went to the cinema besides Tom.
昨天晚上除了汤姆其他学生也去看电影了。(汤姆也去看电影了,包括在内)
All are prent except/other than Helen.
除海伦外, 大家都到了。(海伦未到,不包括在内)

try过去分词
主动关系,如这里的highway和connecting 是主动关系,故用动词-ing形式。 单个的动词-ing形式作定语要前置 (如a sleeping child),动词-ing文鸟怎么养形式短语作定语要后置 ,可以改写成定语从句。
