Daniel Scali, an Australian man with CRPS(复杂性局部疼痛综合征), has broken the world record for the long time in the abdominal plank position(平板支撑)(male) with a time of nine hours 30 minutes and one cond, according to the Guinness World Records.
Scali t the record on August 6, 2021, in Adelaide, Australia. His time beat the previous record of eight hours 15 minutes and 15 conds, which was t in February of last year by George Hood, who was 62 years old at the time.
“When I was 12 years old, I fell off my trampoline(蹦床)causing a rious break in my left arm. As a result, I live with a condition called CRPS, ” he explained to Guinness.
“It’s the brain nding wrong messages to my arm which is the affected area. So anything like soft touch, movement, wind and water will cau me pain.”
Following his diagnosis(诊断), Scali turned to fitness (planking, specifically) in an effort to manage his pain tolerance. At last, his CRPS motivated him to work toward tting the record in the hope that he could inspire others experiencing pain to still achieve their goals.
