摘要：A retractor comprising a rack having a first ction and a cond ction, a first blade fixedly attached to the rack, and a cond blade movably attached to the rack. The first and cond blades engage two adjacent ribs in a patient. The first ction and the cond ction of the rack form a nonlinear angle therebetween so that when the first ction is horizontally dispod, the cond ction is dispod at an angle relative to a horizontal plane. The prent invention also us an external lifting device dispod above the retractor and that creates an upwardly-directed force on the cond blade. The retractor increas the field of vision for the surgeon bad on the design of the rack and the u of the external lifting device.
