However , this was going to be impossible, as his parents couldn't afford a huge party. They were very worried becau they didn't want Kevin to be sad. After thinking about it for veral days, they finally came up with an idea of how to hold a party without spending too much money.
They called each of Kevin's friends and wished them to bring something for Kevin. Mark said he would bring sandwiches. Albert would bring soft drinks. Janet would bring a birthday cake. In this way, Kevin would have a great but cheap party.
Kevin's birthday arrived and his parents went into his room to congratulate him.
“Happy birthday! We hope you will have a good time!” said his father.

After school, Kevin and his friends went to his hou to celebrate his birthday.
When he opened the door to the garden, he saw a big sign hanging there saying, “Happy birthday, Kevin! You are a great friend!” He also saw a table full of food and a birthday cake.
Kevin's friends had also prepared different games to play together.
They enjoyed the party, and learnt that it doesn't matter how you hold a party as long as your loved ones are there.
