摘要：PURPOSE:To improve exchange bond together with recording characteristics and corrosion resistance by using R-FeCo-M (R=Tb and/or Dy, M=Cr or Al) for a recording layer, using Gd-FeCo-M for a reading out layer and sandwiching the recording layer with the reading out layers. CONSTITUTION:The recording layer of this medium for a magneto-optical memory having a magnetic film of the 3-layered structure making the exchange bond by sandwiching the recording layer having high coercive force and low Curie temp. at a room temp. with the reading out layers having low coercive force and high Curie temp. consists of R-FeCo-M and the reading out layers thereof R-FeCo-M of Gd-FeCo-M. (R is an element lected from Tb and Dy, M is an element lected from Cr and Al). The elevation of the Curie temp. is suppresd by adding the Cr and Al together with the Co to the recording layer and the corrosion from the boundary face between the magnetic layer and protective layer is prevented by sandwiching the recording layer of the R-FeCo-M which is improved in the corrosion resistance without degrading the recording nsitivity with the Gd-FeCo-M of the reading out layers having the higher corrosion resistance than the corrosion resistance of the recording layer.
