It's always great to be on the Penn campus 非常高兴能够来到宾夕法尼亚大学
I've been before a lot of time for basketball games 我曾经来这里看过多场篮球比赛
as my sun played at the Palestra, played on the basketball team 因为我儿子就在体育系 是那里的篮球队队员
Yes, that's right, played on the basketball game 没错 就是玩篮球的
Coach didn't give him enough playing time 但教练可没给他那么多时间去玩
but we'll talk about that later 这个我们过后再说
No, I'm very plead with the progress Coach Allen has made 我很佩服艾伦教练的敬业精神
no I do. I am. I really am 真的 我是发自内心的
and I hope them the best success in the future 我希望他们的未来一片大好
you know, I always get a warm welcome 每当我踏进这个校园
when I come to Pennsylvania 都会受到热烈的欢迎尹丽川
when I come to Philadelphia 当我来到这里的时候
except on the few occasions when I'd wear my Yankee cap 但当我戴着洋基队帽子时 就出了点状况
I mean, what's wrong to that? 我的意思是 这有什么不妥的吗？
I can't suddenly just switch up and wear a Philly cap 我只是没来得及换上一顶费城队的帽子而已
I mean, I mean it's like taking your life in your hands around 我是说 戴着洋基队帽子的时候委托生产
when you are Yankees cap. I'm telling you 感觉生命会受到威胁一样
I met a couple of guys, they may like.. 我碰到几位老兄 他们对我说
Hey, we love you Denzel 嗨 丹泽尔 我们都喜欢你
But you know, you walk around with that hat on 但你知不知道 当你戴上那帽子的时候
we don't care who you are 我们才不在乎你是谁呢
So you'll be happy to e 所以 今天还好
that I'm not wearing my Yankee cap today 大家没看到我戴着洋基队的帽子来这儿
But I am wearing my Yankee socks, my Yankee T-shirt 我穿着洋基队的袜子和T恤
my Yankee Jack shirts 洋基队的夹克衫
医学书籍and my Yankees underwear and my Yankee toe warmers 还有底裤和暖脚贴
but not my Yankee cap 但不会带洋基队的帽子
but still, I'll be honest with you 同样 我也要说句真心话
I'm a little nervous 我还有点紧张
I'm not speaking at a graduation of this magnitude 我还没在这种规模的毕业典礼上讲过话
it's a little overwhelming 有点缺乏心理准备
This is out of my comfort zone 这让我不知所措
and you dress me up in army fatigues 你们可以让我穿上陆军迷彩服
or throw me on top of a moving train 或是让我跳上飞奔的火车
someone said unstoppable or.. 有人刚才说过这个
ask me to play Malcolm X, Rubin Hurricane Carter 让我扮演马尔科姆·艾克斯 或是鲁宾·卡特
or Alonzo from Training Day. I can do that 或是《训练日》里面的阿伦佐 这都没问题
But a commencement speech? It's a very rious affair 但是毕业典礼呢？这是非常郑重的活动
and a very different ballgame 和以往参加的活动大有不同
There's literally thousands and thousands of people here 台下坐着成千上万的听众
And for tho who say 有人会说
Well, you're a movie star, millions of people watch you 你可是电影明星哦 无数的人都看着你
and watch you speak all the time 无数人看着你讲话
Oh, that's true. that's technically true 没错 严格意义上讲 这话不假
But I'm not actually there in the theater 但我从没坐在电影院里
watching them watching me. I think that make n 看着台下的观众在看我 我觉得是这个道理
I mean I'm not there when they cough, or fidget around 我是说 当他们咳嗽或烦躁的时候
or pull out their iPhone and text their boyfriend 或是掏出iPhone给男友发短信的时候
or scratch their behinds, or whatever is it 或是在找挠后背之类的
known when in the movie theater 就是在电影院里常坐的事情
But from up here, I can e every single one of you 但在这里 我可以看到你们每一个人
And that makes me uncomfortable 这让我感觉怪怪的
So plea, don't pull out your iPhones and texts 所以拜托大家 不要掏出手机发短信
no texts to your boyfriend until after I'm done, plea 不要给男友发短信 直到我讲话结束 拜托了
But if you have to scratch your behinds, I mean 但如果你要挠挠后背的话
I understand, go ahead 我能理解 请便吧
I was thinking about the speech, what I should say 我曾思考着 要来这里讲些什么阻碍英文
I figured the best way to keep your attention 我觉得 如果要让你们专心听我说话
would be to talk about something, you know 最好讲一些…… 你们懂的
really like juicy Hollywood stuff like.. 比如好莱坞的花边新闻一类的事
I thought I could talk about me and Rusll Crowe 我曾想过要讲讲我和罗素·克洛二人
getting into arguments on the t of American Gangster or.. 在拍摄《美国黑帮》时的激烈争论
