Cerabar Display VU 130The Cerabar display VU 130 is specially designed for the Cerabar pressure transmitters PTC or PMC with the synthetic
housing. The Cerabar VU 130 display for the PMC version can be
plugged onto all pressure transmitters with 20 mA 20mA analogue output. The Cerabar VU 130 display for the PTC version can be plugged onto pressure transmitters with a PNP or NPN switch output.
The display module is plugged onto the Cerabar housing in place of the housing cover. It has Protection IP 65 as standard.
This on-site display must not be installed in an explosion hazardous area!
The measured value is displayed in two ways. For quick
asssments, the measured value is displayed quantitatively as a half-circle bargraph with 40 gments corresponding to the 20 mA signal or the voltage signal (PTC).
If the end value is exceeded (I meas  > 20 mA), then the bargraph flashes a warning.
For more accurate determination, a 31/2 digit LCD display gives values with a display range from –1999 to +1999. It is pret to the technical units required (e.g. bar).
If this display range is exceeded then the last three digits are
blanked out (« 1      » instead of « 2000 »).

Description
Remove the housing cover from the Cerabar Wire up the display to the terminal strip of the Cerabar (refer to Electrical Connection)Press the display down onto the housing until it is flush with the socket pins The display can be turned through 90° as required:Lever off the display from the Cerabar at the two marked grooves using a screwdriver Reposition the appropriate clip on the rever of the display using a Phillips screwdriver Wiring the Cerabar display VU 130 is carried out using the connection diagrams shown below. With Cerabar instruments
象棋的下法having five-pole connection terminals, the interlock diode between the terminal screws must be removed.

Display VU 130 for Cerabar PTC … with PNP
or NPN switch output
The display unit for the 4 … 20 mA version is looped directly into the 2-wire signal cabling. It requires no additional power supply as the measuring signal delivers the auxiliary power to the display unit. With the 0 … 20 mA, PNP or NPN versions, however, are supplied by the red and black connections and connected in parallel to the Cerabar. The display is well protected against rever polarity as long as the current is not greater than approx. 200 mA. If the terminals are incorrectly connected, then the display is completely blank. When correctly wired up then the display shows characters again. If a specific measuring range has not been stated when ordering, then default values for the display are factory t at 0.00 … 10.00bar and 0/4 … 20 mA. Measuring ranges stated on ordering are given on the nameplate on the rever of the instrument. An ammeter with sufficient accuracy or a current simulator 0/4 … 20 mA (max. 24 V=) is required for calibration. This allows electrical signals from the pressure measuring instrument to be simulated. The power voltage coming from the power pack must also be simulated to calibrate the display for 0 … 20 mA. A DC voltage source (e.g.
power adapter) is required with an output voltage in the range 12.5 V= … 30 V= (unstabilid, max. residual ripple 0.1 V ~).The positive pole is connected to the red and the negative pole to the black wire. The display should first be calibrated in small steps externally using the two potentiometers only (e Fig.). The digital range of the potentiometers may already be t and the decimal place on the display correct.Example measuring range –1.00 … 5.00 bar:
Connect the positive and negative cables of the current simulator to the display module, taking care to ensure correct polarity, and then adjust to 0/4 mA.

(display for 0 … 20 mA: positive pole to the yellow cable, negative pole to the blue cable)
Remove the cover on the housing to the fine potentiometer (ZERO/SPAN) and turn through 90°
Adjust the display to 0.00 on the ZERO potentiometer using a 2 mm screwdriver
Adjust the measuring span  on the SPAN potentiometer at 20 mA (difference between initial / final values), in this ca 6.00 for –1.00 … 5.00 bar
Adjust the initial value  on the ZERO potentiometer at 0/4 mA,in this ca –1.00 for –1.00 … 5.00 bar
(Final value of 5.00 bar adjusts automatically)

If the fine adjustment does not give the required result, then the coar adjustment of the display must be carried out using the DIP switches  (e Fig.). In this ca the connector board must be removed from the display by looning the four Phillips screws.DIP Switches ON / OFF (basic position)Fine adjustment Initial value (ZERO)Fine adjustment Measuring span (SPAN)The two measuring spans  available are first lected using the
DIP switches 5/6 (e Fig.). Measuring Span 2 covers the larger measuring range but is less nsitive.
The digit range  of the measuring range for which the pressure measuring instrument is to be ud, must be determined Example:
Range –1.00 … 5.00 bar corresponds to a digit range of 600
Select Measuring Span 1 (DIP switch 5 ON, 6 OFF);
Range –1.00 … 15.00 bar corresponds to a digit range of 1600
Select Measuring Span 2 (DIP switch 5 OFF , 6 ON).
Fine adjustment of the measuring span is done using the SPAN
potentiometer (e Calibration 1st step).

Coar adjustment of the initial value is only required for measuring ranges which do not begin at 0 bar (e.g. –200 … 200 mbar). The DIP switches 1/2/3/4 are ud for calibrating the smallest possible digit ranges within which the inital value lies. The must be t  singly one after the other  to ON (others OFF), until fine adjustment of the intial value can be carried out at the ZERO potentiometer (e.g. 2 ON, 1/3/4 OFF).The position of the decimal point on the display is determined by the DIP switches 7/8/9.DIP switch 10 provides the option for either bar or pointer display.
After the calibration, the sticker supplied should then be ud to indicate the display range (or own lettering). No decimal point Decimal point to the right, e.g. 150.0Decimal point in the middle, e.g. 10.00Decimal point to the left, e.g. 1.6007897897897891234123412341234digit-range 1 (ZERO)digi
