The legend of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai is t in the Eastern Jin Dynasty.
Zhu Yingtai is a beautiful and intelligent young woman, the ninth child and only daughter of the wealthy noble Zhu family of Shangyu, Zhejiang. Breaking traditions that restricted females from going to school, she convinces her father to allow her to disgui herlf as a young man and travels to Hangzhou to attend class. During her journey, she meets Liang Shanbo, a scholar from Kuaiji (now known as Shaoxing), who lives in the same province as her. They chat and feel a strong affinity for each other at their first meeting. Hence, they gather some soil as incen and take the oath of fratenity in the pavilion of a thatched bridge.
For the next three years in school, they share the same room where there is only one bed and two quilts. Zhu Yingtai falls in love with Liang Shanbo gradually. Although Liang equals Zhu in their studies, he is still a bookworm and fails to notice the feminine characteristics exhibited by his classmate.
One day, Zhu Yingtai receives a letter from her father, asking her to return home as soon as possible. Zhu Yingtai has no choice but to pack her belongings immediately and bid Liang Shanbo farewell. However, in her heart, she has already confesd her love for Liang Shanbo and is determined to be w
ith him for all eternity. Before her departure, she reveals her true identity to the headmaster's wife and requests her to hand over a jade pendant to Liang Shanbo as a betrothal gift.
珍珠熊图片Liang Shanbo accompanies his "sworn brother" for 18 miles to e her off. During the journey, Zhu Yingtai hints to Liang Shanbo that she is actually a woman. For example, she compares them to a pair of mandarin ducks (symbolic of lovers in Chine culture) but Liang does not catch her hints and does not have even the slightest suspicion that his companion is a woman in disgui. Zhu Yingtai finally comes up with an idea and tells Liang that she will act as a matchmaker for him and her sister. Before they part, Zhu reminds Liang to visit her residence later so he can propo to marry her "sister". Liang and Zhu reluctantly part ways at the pavilion where they first met.
Months later, when Liang Shanbo visits Zhu Yingtai, he discovers that she is actually a woman. They are devoted to and passionate about each other and they make a vow of "till death do us part". The joy of their reunion is short-lived as Zhu's parents have already arranged for her to marry a man from a rich family called Ma Wencai. Liang Shanbo is heartbroken when he hears the news and his health gradually deteriorates until he becomes critically ill. He dies in office later as a county magistrate.
On the day of Ma Wencai and Zhu Yingtai's marriage, mysterious whirlwinds prevent the wedding pr
ocession from escorting the bride beyond Liang Shanbo's grave, which lies along the journey. Zhu Yingtai leaves the procession to pay
her respects to Liang Shanbo. She descends in bitter despair and begs for the grave to open up. Suddenly, the grave opens with a clap of thunder. Without further hesitation, Zhu Yingtai throws herlf into the grave to join Liang Shanbo. Their spirits turn into a pair of beautiful butterflies and emerge from the grave. They fly together as a pair and are never to be parated again.

麻姑米粉This dish was named after the most beautiful and famous lake in China, West Lake (西湖). But what makes this dish famous is not just becau of its name.
Before the fish is cooked, it has to stay hungry in clean water for one or two days. So that the smell of mud in the fish can be got rid of. Cooking of the fish is simply putting it in boiling water for about 3 minutes. Then all that needs to be done is to pour the sauce onto the fish. The sauce was made up of the water ud to cook the fish, vinegar, sugar, rice wine, soy sauce, etc. The simple cooking method pretty much shows the esnce of Zhe Jiang cuisine - maintaining the freshness as much as possible.

The peak stands in front of the temple of the soul's retreat. Geographically speaking, the peak is completely different from the surrounding mountains. The peak is of pure limestone while the surrounding mountains are of sandstone. The peak looks quite unique. Legend has it that an Indian monk by the name of Hui Li, upon his arrival in the valley, was surprid to e the peak towering in the valley. He wondered aloud: “when did peak come flying all the way from India to this place?" The name of the peak is pasd from that time down to today.
The cliffs of the peak are dotted with rock niches where various stone statues sit, stand, sleep, or laugh silently. The statues number more than 340 and all are under state-level protection. Many of the stone statues are quite unique and have unparalleled values in the art history.
The water-eroded caves in the peak are the very birthplace of many local legends. And the rocks on the peak look quite strange and remble flying dragons, running elephants, crouching tigers and fleeing monkeys. The age-old trees are entangled with leafy vines and their knotty roots are partly expod. In the places where rocks are expod, they show hard thick lines as if cut out by heavenly knives.
Yuan Hongdao, a celebrity of the Ming Dynasty, spoke highly of the Peak that was thought flying from afar. He said the peak came out number one if compared with all other hills and peaks around the West Lake.
