About 8:15 one morning, I left for the airport to meet friends from Holland, only to discover that the plane was to be an hour late. The airport is clo by, so I went home to wait.
Arriving at the hou I found my dog, Clyde, in a very excited state, pushing his no into a flowerbed near our front door then jumping back, barking () all the time. Clyde’s barking warned me that something was wrong and danger was near. If Clyde had not been “on guard”, the cobra could easily have got into our hou. There he might have lain hidden, ready to “surpri attack” me when I wasn’t expecting it. This reminds me of the fact that anything can happen at any time so we should be always “on guard”. We cannot take life for granted, and should appreciate every day that we have.

The results of a new survey have come out, uncovering young people’s thoughts on climate change (the long-term change in world weather patterns, including rising temperatures, caud by human activities).
More than 46,000 young people between the ages of 4 and 18 took part in the survey. Of them, 95% said they were worried about climate change, and 89% said that not enough was being done about it. Meanwhile, 81% said they feel as though young people aren’t being listened to. One young person, aged 14, from Bristol, who took part in the survey, said, “Children have a right to a future with a healthy, safe planet.” Another 14-year-old, from London, said, “Children have to live with the mistakes of adults, their wrongs and opinions. But as we grow up, we, as a generation, understand what is going on with the world and should have a say.”
