唐僧命徒弟路救一位自称被强盗掠入山中的女子，不料女子却是妖精所变，在山寺中吃了两个贪色的和尚，并使妖风把唐僧摄入险空山无底洞。悟空先后四探妖洞：先察知妖精欲与师父成亲；再入洞变成红杏诓妖吞下，逼她放了师父。不想妖精再次摄走唐僧。悟空三番入洞，探明妖精来历，遂上天宫告状，迫使玉帝派托塔李天王父子随悟空入洞，终于擒住金鼻白毛老鼠精。
