摘要：A paration process has been found in which a polymer-solvent solution parates into phas of highly different composition which are in equilibrium over a broad temperature range. Upon addition of the pha parating agent, which is near or above its supercritical conditions, rapid dingagement into two phas occurs. The relative volume of solvent rich pha is substantially larger than the polymer rich pha. The process can be practiced at relatively low temperatures such as tho employed in polymerization or post-polymerization process. The paration is accomplished by adding or elevating the concentration of a pha paration agent to or above a minimum effective concentration, which caus the UCST and LCST lines to merge. Suitable pha parating agents are organic and inorganic compounds that are gas at 1 atm pressure and 25°C. Due to the gaous nature of the pha parating agent, it is easily removed from the solvent pha for reu in the process.
