Demand中继器用法
在本册第19如何做自我介绍单元有这样一个句子:For years we've been demanding better housing and jobs.其中的demand是个常用词,其词性与用法较多,现将其主要用法归纳如下:
一、demand作不及物动词,意为"询问"。如:
"What do you mean by that?" he demanded. "你那是什么意思?"他问道。
二、demand作及物动词,意为"要求、需要、要求知道、查问".常见用法有:
1. demand sth.
The policeman demanded their names.那个警察查问了他们的名字。
The work demands care and patience.那工作需要细心和耐心。
2. demand sth. from/of sb.
The children demanded help from/of the society.这些孩子需要社会的救助。
I demand an immediate answer of/from you.我要求你立即答复。疏导原则
3. demand to do sth.
The girl demands to be allowed to e her sick mother in hospital.这女孩要求允许看望她生病住院的母亲。
Someone demanded to have a talk with you.有人要求和你谈一谈。
4. demand+that-clau(从句谓语形式要用出境游攻略"should+do",should也可省去。)

三、demand的现在分词有"费事的、需要很大耐性(技巧或努力等)的、苛刻的"等意思。如:
Solving this problem is demanding work.解决这个问题是一件很费事的工作。
The workers hated the demanding boss.工人们都恨那个苛刻的老板。小学口语交际
四、demand可作名词,有"要求、所要求的事物、需要、需求"之意。如:
It's impossible to satisfy all your demands.满足你所有的要求是不可能的。
The workers' demands for higher pay were refud by the employers.工人要求提高工资遭到雇主拒绝。
