Background Information
What gives a good impression during an interview?
You should be well prepared and bring all appropriate materials including your resume.  Come to the interview alone and be on time, or up to 5 minutes early.  You should be well groomed for an interview.  Shake hands firmly, looking the interviewer squarely in the face.  Do not pump.  Speak clearly, slowly and loudly enough.  Do not be alarmed by long periods of silence.  Do not talk too much and don’t fidget.  Remember the persons’ name and title, and pronounce them correctly.  You should be straightforward and to the point, exhibiting confidence.  Do not belittle yourlf or your background.  Fill out forms well.  Finally, thank the interviewer for his/her time, help, or information and shake hands again.
