一,教学目标Students will be able to say the /y/ sound when they e letter y.
Students will be able to recognize the letter y and write the letter y properly.
Students will be able to blend words containing the sound /y/ and other sounds they have learnt with fully understanding the meaning of words in the context.

Step 2: Story
Introduce the sound /y/ using a story.
(Teacher may u Chine when necessary.)
T: It's lunch time at school.
What are the two kids eating for lunch? (sandwich, egg,
carrots and yogurt)
Do you like yogurt?
What kind of yogurt do you like?
What yogurt are they eating? (yellow yogurt)
They eat the yellow yogurt, saying, "Yyyyyummy, 设计意图: 教师通过故事引入今天要学习 的字母音/y/。学生模仿练习其发 音并了解字母y 的发音为/y/。 能够跟着老师进行简单的口头 拼读。 通过找出一些含有/y/音的单词, 培养音素意识。

Point out the big "y" on page 12 and tell the children that
whenever they e this letter, they make the /y/ sound.
Look at the picture with the children and ask them what they
can e.
As they point something out, ask if it has a /y/ sound in
If it does, emphasize the /y/ sound as you say the word: for
example, yellow.
If it does not, say the word clearly and ask if they can hear a
/y/.
Other things in the picture with a /y/ sound are: yogurt, yo-yo,
yacht, yolk and yes (tick).
Now look at the picture and ask who can point to the “y -oa-y-毕业实习目的
oa” (yo -yo), saying the word sound by sound.
Other words you can u are: y-oa-k (yolk), y-olk, c-r-ai-o-n
(crayon), s-p-oo-n, m-i-l-k.
Step 3: ActionGuide children to pretend to eat yogurt from a
s poon, saying, “/y/,/y/,/y/,/y/T  Ask Ss to do the action and say /y/ when the teacher points to the letter. Step 4: Letter FormationExplain that you are going to show
how to write the letter y which make the /y/ sound.
Identify the starting point for the letter formation (marked by a dot).
Demonstrate the formation in the air.
Ask Ss to watch and imitate the formation, whilst saying the sound.
Ask Ss to write over the dotted letters in their books.
Ask Ss to review the formation of z, w, ng, v, oo.
Ask Ss to write over the dotted words "yummy yellow yogurt” (in
their workbook).
Ask Ss to say the sound while they are writing.
(Ss who have finished may color the yogurt in their book as they
will.)Demonstrate the formation of capital letter Y on the

Step 6: Sound IdentifyingAsk Ss to say the words corresponding to the picture.
Ask Ss to listen for the word without the /y/ sound, and cross it out.
(cat, yolk, yo-yo, yogurt)Ask Ss to pick up the corresponding sound.
Do a dictation.
The children listen to the words and hold a finger for each sound.
Point to the word in the box and sound it out, emphasizing the first sound. 设计意图:
