2. Cour Description:  College English is a cour primarily designed for non-English majors.  The cour will consist of a wide variety of exercis which will include guided lessons, spontaneous dialogue, and familiarization with Western culture.  As a compulsory cour, College English will be directed at orientating new freshmen with intermediate conversation skills on a wide variety of topics.
3. Curriculum Objectives:  The goal of this cour is to increa English fluency and comprehension, while familiarizing students with Western culture and events.  Upon completion of the cour, students will be able to initiate conversation, and explain personal views about topics pertaining to realistic situations. 
1. Knowledge and skills objectives:  Students will gain proficiency in speaking tasks such as spontaneous conversation and communication techniques with other students in the form of group work.
2. Process and method objectives:  To convey ideas and opinions using college level spoken English will be the primary objectives of this cour.  By using current events and
pop culture, oral fluency will be incread and appreciation of Western culture enhanced.
3. Emotional, attitudinal and values ​​development objectives:  Upon completion of the cour, students will have greater confidence when speaking to foreigners and an incread perception of how uful and integral English is in society.
4. Pre- and Post-Cour contact:  This cour will require students to have a basic proficiency of spoken English.  Students should have intermediate to advanced speaking skills prior to the cour.  After the cour, students should be able to explain personal points of view in greater detail and have greater confidence when addressing native English speakers

Further examination  of small talk and dialogues with an emphasis placed on speaking partners will be the cornerstone of this class.

7. Teaching methods: Obrvational methodology, cooperative teaching, and participatory techniques will be ud, in addition to teacher/student interaction.
8. Learning needs of students:
1.Method of this cour, strategies and educational resources:  This cour will focus on engaging student interests through participatory methodology.  Educational resources will  vary depending on the cour subject material.  Internet and library resources will be made available to all students.
2. Required extra-curricular reading and educational materials:  Extra-curricular reading will depend on the week's conversation  topic.  Educational materials will include Internet articles and teacher handouts.
3. Weekly study time requirement.  It is recommended that students spend at least 1-2 hours outside class.
      4.  Required class, laboratory, discussion, Q & A, homework (or thesis), unit tes
ts, final          exams, etc., work requirements for students:  Students are not allowed unexcud    abnces.  Points will be awarded to individual students bad on participation in class.        The    final exam will consist of a 5 minute free talk between two students.  The topics    will have been covered in class, so students should be well informed about the    expectations of the test.
      5. Student participation in teaching evaluation requirements:  1-2 weeks before the    completion of the cour, students will be asked to complete and submit an online teacher    evaluation.

The final exam methodology will be bad on a free talk between two students.  The students must demonstrate oral fluency and the ability to respond and engage in dialogue. The following four areas will be assd during the Final Exam:  Pronunciation (25%), Grammar (25%), Fluency (25%) and Intonation (25%).
