Instruct the class to study the picture at the top of the page. Students learn the names which appear in the picture. Next ask the questions in the box and ask students to clo the books. Draw a family tree on the board. Start with your parents. Make sure you prent parents as one of the vocabulary words. Describe your family. You are demonstrating what you hope students will be able to do by the end of the class.
  Play the recording with books clod. Students just listen. Play the recording a cond time and ask students to write down any family vocabulary they hear. Play the recording a third time. This time, students follow along in their books and underline the family vocabulary.
On the board, write: ? Help students understand what kind of information is required in respon to a question that begins with this phra .review the singular and plural forms of the be verb found in the small grammar box.
Write two paragraphs on the board about your family. Keep them simple and short. This will be a model for students.
Write the word like on the board. Mention something you like and ask students what they like. Make a list on the board. Ask students to open their books and go over the meaning of each new vocabulary item in exerci A.
As the teacher goes over the chart, show students that other verbs follow the same rule as like (s)
Review the chart on the previous page again and drill once more
Ask students to discuss the Venn diagram in exerci D
  Students read the names loudly and answer the questions in the box. Students will u the target words to discuss
Students follow teachers instruction and listen to the CD carefully
Before students listen, have the class predict names to go on each line of the family tree by looking at the picture of part D.

However, drills should not be the sole practice or method ud to help students memorize something or acquire a grammar structure. There are veral ways to drill (choral repetition, substitution, build up, backward build up, etc).
