USE:A synthetic intermediate of N [4-(3-aminopropyl)aminobutyl]-2 [(S)-7-guanidino-3-hydroxyheptanamido]-2-hydroxyethanamide and its derivative uful as an carcinostatic agent. PROCESS:The compound of formulaIcan be prepared by (1) acylating the free amino group of the compound of formula II (R is amino-protecting group) with the dialkyl acetal of glyoxylic acid of formula III (R' is 1-5C alkyl) and its reactive derivative at the carboxylic acid group, and (2) eliminating the amino- protecting group and R' from the product.
