rmon:
A rmon is a religious discour usually,but not always, delivered as part of a church rvice in a hou of worship, most of which have a pulpit (讲坛) or ambo, an elevated architectural feature. The word “rmon” comes from the Latin word rmo, which meant “conversation”. And actually, early rmons were delivered in the form of questions and answers, only later did it come to mean a monologue.
In modern language, the word “rmon” can also be ud in cular (世俗的,非宗教的) terms to describe a lengthy or tedious speech delivered with great passion, by any person, to an uninterested audience.

(1) n. strong feeling of dislike or distaste
