一 。 17 小题答案为C. Generally speaking 在句中显示了独立性， 它在句中没有逻辑主语，用来表示说话人对所表达的意义的一种看法。又如：
1） Judging by her accent , she must be from Henan
结婚红包祝福语怎么写从口音看她一定是河南人。
2) Supposing we lo, what then ?
假定我们输了， 那怎么办？
能做独立成分的还有considering , talking , including ,supposing 等。
二 。第18 小题答案为C. 题干While watching television中的While 是连词，有时用when 。不是独立成分，它的逻辑主语和主句的主语是一致的，表示的是在分词的动作发生的过程之中，句子的谓语动作发生的；这种形式等同于一个状语从句。又如：
1） While discussing the matter , many comrades got excited .
讨论着事情时，很多人很激动。
While discussing the matter = While they were discussing the matter.
2) Be careful when crossing the street !
过街时要小心。
when crossing the street = when you are crossing the street
3) While attending the conference here, she made many acquaintances .
在这儿开会时，她认识很多人。
While attending the conference here = While she was attending the conference here.

三．第20 小题答案为B. running 不是独立成分， 其逻辑主语和句子的主语是一致的，在句中为伴随状语，表示行为方式或陪衬性的动作。 如：
1） The parades marched through Tian’an Men Square, carrying flowers and banners in their hands .
游行的人手上拿着鲜花和彩旗走过天安门广场。
2) Plea fill in this form , giving your name , address , etc.
请把这表填一下，填明姓名、住址等。
3) Humming a tune she went into the bedroom .
七点半的英文哼着小曲她走进卧室。
四．总而言之， 现在分词短语作状语的逻辑主语和句子的主语是一致的，否则就是独立结构。
