GMAT阅读文章中引出观点的词汇小结
GMAT阅读多为观点/理论议论性的文章，所以我们在一开始处理文章的时候就要求学生去看每段首句和转折词。要看每段首句是因为一般会有观点出现，而要看转折词是因为在它后面，观点往往发生了改变。那么一开始引出观点和转折词后面再次提出观点都是会有一些标志词的，也就是标题中的GMAT阅读中常见的用来引出观点的词语。这些词基本上有以下几个：believe,argue,contend,Claim,theorize,asrt,view,announce,etc.
Believe：例如在申友第5版讲义第17篇，p148文章首句，就以believe引出了观点。Many people believe that becau wages are lower in developing countries than in developed countries,competition from developing countries in goods traded internationally will soon eliminate large numbers of jobs in developed countries.那么这个believed 的内容就是文章之后进行evaluate的前提。

View：讲义第14篇，p142，第一句：The view has prevailed for the better part of the twentieth century that small firms do not perform an important role in Western economies.这个观点就是之后文章举出反证反驳的观点。

Argue：接着之前的同样第14篇文章。第2段首句：Thus,an alternative view has emerged in the economics,arguing that small firms make veral important contributions to industrial markets.这里的ar
guing就是引出代替性观点，引出新观点的观点标志词。Contend：讲义第12篇，p138，第一段第一句：The Black Death,a vere epidemic that ravaged fourteenth-century Europe,has intrigued scholars ever since Francis Gasquet's1893study contending that this epidemic greatly intensified the political and religious upheaval that ended the Middle Ages.这里的contending就是scholars 观点出现的标志。
火冒三丈的近义词Claim：同样第12篇，第2段第一句：In the1930s,however,Evgeny Kosminsky and other Marxist historians claimed the epidemic was merely an ancillary factor contributing to a general agrarian crisis stemming primarily from the inevitable decay of European feudalism.提出另一派观点。
劳动的故事>产品经理的职责Asrt：同样第12篇，In arguing that this decline of feudalism was economically determined,the Marxist asrted that the Black Death was a relatively insignificant factor.
Theorize：第10篇，p134，第一句：Many scholars have theorized that economic development,particularly industrialization and urbanization,con-tributes to the growth of participatory democracy.Theorize的内容即使后面的反对基础。Announce：讲义第1篇，p114，第一段第2句：Two years later,the McKay team announced
可乐英语that ALH84001,which scientists generally agree originated on Mars,contained compelling evidence t
hat life once existed on Mars.这里announce的内容就是文章后面怀疑派怀疑的内容。
