Acting on the advice of Circe，Odysus took carefulpreparation against the Sirens．Before their ships cameto where they could hear the song，Odysus had himlf tied to the mast ，stopped the ears ofhis men with wax and ordered them to ignore his orders and gestures when they were passing thefatal island ．
