Reuben couldn't ask his father for the money. Everything his father made through fishing went to his mother, Dora. Slim and beautiful, she was the center of the home, the glue that held it together. The houwork was never-ending, and she struggled to support their five children but she was happy as her family and their well-being were all she cared about.

It was about that time that Roberta，the boys’ mother，returned from the bathroom and looked around for her children．She was shocked to spot them floating much farther out than they were allowed to go．She fought the waves to get to her screaming sons and th
e stranger who was trying to save them，but she quickly discovered it was nearly impossible to make headway in any direction．Looking around，Roberta sighed with relief to e some more people coming to help．
