Through this mester’s learning I’ve learnt many detailed information of modern English mass media. Before this I don’t understand why we have to learn it and what can we learn from it for it ems just like a kind of News. But now, at the end of this class, I know it is not easier than what I think of it. There are many rules and requirements should be obrved. Especially in that broadcast show. The whole class was divided into veral groups and each group has four students: the announcer, editor, press corrector and information collector. During the preparation of the broadcast show we realize the hard works of a broadcaster: the details are very important, if you failed them maybe you will fail yourlf too.

Journalism is the collection and periodical publishing of news. It includes writing for, editing,
and managing such media as the newspaper and periodical. In other words it means gathering, evaluating, and disminating facts of current interest.

Second, features of modern English mass media.
In modern English mass media headline is very important. An eligible headline must meet two requirements: to capture the esnce of the event, to attract readers’ attention. It often has three kinds of writing styles: frequent mission of auxiliary words, common callings, professional terms, using small words, not big words. We also can u some rhetoric features such as simile or personification, pun, alliteration and rhyme. In English news, adverbials, attributives, appositive and prep or noun phras are also frequently ud to support background information or further illustration. That is the major reason why the ntence structure ems loosing with more inrtions. Include that there are four parts which we should pay attention to when we are writing an English news: omissio
n of linking words in object clau, for example, “that”; punctuations can be ud in direct speech; journalistic prent ten, feature ten of verbs and continuous ten can be ud in titles; simplify ntences such as non-predicated words and phra, omission in title, pre-attributives also necessary for an English news.

So one advertiment should be easy and brief, small and shout words. There are three short ntence structures: imperative ntence, interrogative ntence and elliptical ntence. o get clo to interviewees. It can help you approach emotion to interviewee, be an experienced expert, enhance the news nsibility and the further width and depth of interviews. At the same time you should prepare for theories, policies, situation and knowledge. During the interviews you can get information through three ways: questioning, listening carefully and obrvation.
