This coating compris two layers one of which consists of silver on a substrate while the other consists of a metal oxide. This invention is characterid in that the silver layer has a thickness of 20 to 250 nm while the metal oxide consists of titanium or zirconium oxide. Such a combination increas the transmission coefficient and the thermal-radiation attenuation coefficient, increas the mechanical strength and chemical resistance of the coating and allows the u thereof even on polymeric substrates.
