In early spring, migrating wild gee wing their way north toward their Arctic breeding grounds. At the tail end of winter just a month ago, the almanac (年历) contains an almost identical obrvation—“Wild Gee Return to their Northern Home”. This pair of goo sightings brackets the beginning and end of staggered flocks—a phenomenon well known to birdwatchers. Gee that vacation furthest south generally begin their migration about a month earlier than their cousins who winter at lesr latitudes. The flow of gee is reverd and paired in the fall. “Wild Gee Come" is succeeded a month later in the almanac by “Wild Gee Come as Guests”. Migration ason easily spans a month. Early birds pass overhead in September while stragglers make their way some time in October.
Gee fly in family units and in V-shaped wedges. Father Goo takes the lead in the sky, with the mother bringing up the rear, youngsters in between. When the birds splash down to feed and rest on water however, Mother Goo swims out to lead the family.
