一 教学目标
Knowledge Aims:
1) Words: pretend, magic, abolish, wander, transport, unite, mark, extend, celebration, freedom, origin, originally, originate;
2) Phras: come to an end, dress up, fancy costumes, consist of, on end, in cret, date back to, take over;
3) Sentence patterns: a: Having fun means eating, drinking and dressing up.
b: Ordinary people could pretend to be rich and important, while famous people could have romantic adventures in cret.
Ability Aims: To train and develop the students’ speaking skills and reading ability;
Affective Aims: To learn to appreciate the spirit of Carnival and enjoy our life;

Step 1 Lead-in (5ms)
This class we will deal with Module 4 Carnival. It is one of western festivals.

Among all the festivals, carnival is my favorite. It is also the topic of our module. Before reading, let’s learn something about the history of carnival to have a better understanding of it.

Step 2 Fast reading (15ms)

Step 3 Detailed- reading ( Paras 3---6)(10ms)

Ask: Para4: But it caud a problem, what was the problem? How did the government solve the problem?

brate their carnival. You watch it carefully and then try to describe them. For example, their clothes, their body language, their feelings and so on. So pay attention to every detail while watching.
