end
1. at the end (of) (……的)末端。如:
At the end of the street you’ll find the hospital. 在街的尽头,你可以找到那家医院。
I think the film is a bit weak at the end. 麻婆茄子我认为这部电影的末尾差一些。
2. be at an end 结束,终结。如:
The war was at an end. 战争结束了。
Everything between them was at an end. 他们之间的一切都已结束。
3. by the end of 到结束时,到末尾时。如:
We had studied English for three years by the end of last term. 到上期末, 我们就已学了三年英语了。
By the end of the chapter, you’ll have guesd the meaning of this word. 等你读完这一章时,你就会猜出这个词的意思了。
4. come (draw) to an end 结束,完结。如:

2. enjoy onelf 玩得高兴,过得愉快。如:
He enjoyed himlf in the vacation. 他假期过得很愉快。
The children enjoyed themlves playing in the water. 孩子们在水中玩得很高兴。
enough
1. enough to do sth 足够的……可以做某事。如:
He is old enough to go to school. 他够上学年龄了。
Is the river deep enough to swim in? 在这条河里游泳水够深吗?
注:有时其中的不定式可以换成 for (doing) sth。如以上两句也可说成:
He is old enough for school.
Is the river deep enough for swimming in?
另外有时连用某些具有形容词意味的名词,此时名词不带冠词。如:
I was fool [=foolish] enough to accept his offer. 我接受他的提议真是太傻了。
Are you man [=brave] enough for this dangerous job? 你有勇气敢做这项危险的工作吗?
2. cannot……enough 不可能足够……。如:
You cannot be careful enough. take的反义词你越仔细越好。
I cannot thank you enough. 我对你感谢不尽。
enter
1. enter for sth 报名参加某事。如:
I’ve entered for the high jump.葱油捞面 我已报名参加跳高比赛。
注:有时用 enter one (onelf) for sth。如:
He entered himlf for the examination. 他报名参加考试。
The teacher entered him for the examination. 老师替他报名参加考试。
2. enter into
(1) 开始做某事,开始讨论或研究某事。如:
Let’s enter into the subject of taxes. 我们来讨论一下税款问题。
I dared not enter into conversation with him. 我未敢与他交谈。
We had hardly entered into the matter when he came in. 我们刚开始讨论此事,他就来了。
(2) 开始进入某一状态,领略或体会其中的意味。如:
The country entered into a state of war. 这个国家进入战争状态。
I can enter into your feelings at the loss of your son. 我理解你失去儿子后的心情。
(3) 成为……的一部分。如:
Cost must enter into consideration. 必须考虑成本。
This possibility never entered into our calculations. 我们从未考虑过有这种可能性。
注:表示进入某一具体的场所或地点,通常不用 enter into, 而只用 enter 即可。如:
enter the room 进入房间enter a building 进入建筑物
但是有时表示进入某一具体的东西也用没有教不好的孩子 enter into, 那主要是为了强调深入其内。如:
The arrow entered into his head. 箭射进了他的头。
It entered into his body. 它进入了他体内。
We entered into a woody mountain. 我们进入了一片山林里。
entrance
1. (the) entrance to
(1) ……的入口。如:
I’ll meet you at the entrance to the theatre. 我将在剧院门口和你见面。
The car stopped at the entrance to the railway station. 汽车停在火车站的入口处。
注:有时也用介词 遵守社会公德of, 但不如用介词 to普通。如:
The entrance of the hall is on your right. 大厅的入口在你右边。

(2) 进入……。如:
Entrance to college is by examination. 进入大学要经过考试。
They were refud entrance to the club.精美图片头像 他们被拒于俱乐部门外。
注:这样用的 entrance(进入的权利,允许进入)为不可数名词,其前通常不用冠词。
envy
1. be the envy of sb 是某人羡慕(忌妒)的东西()。如:
His new car was the envy of all his friends. 他的新车成了他有朋友羡慕的东西。
She (Her beauty) is the envy of her friends. 她的朋友都羡慕(忌妒)(的美貌)
2. envy of sb 羡慕或忌妒某人。如:
He was filled with envy of me. 他非常羡慕(忌妒)我。D(16)
3. envy at [of] sth 羡慕或忌妒某人。如:
He was filled with envy at my success. 他非常羡慕(妒忌)我的成功。
