Bamboo Piano Suite is a musical piece compod by Chine compor Zhou Long and premiered in 1998. It is a short suite in five movements, or ctions, each featuring a different bamboo instrument. The five movements are respectively titled "Prai to the Buddha", "Second Spring", "Romantic Concerto", "Homage to Pure Land", and "Elixir of Life", and each movement evokes a different atmosphere through its u of bamboo instruments.
In the first movement, “Prai to the Buddha”, Long combines the sound of the full bamboo enmble with the pipa, creating a lush and rene atmosphere. The cond movement, “Second Spring”, utilizes solo instruments to create a more energetic and upbeat tone. The third movement, “Romantic Concerto”, features a duet between the dizi and pipa that creates a delicate, romantic sound.
