6, Computers are less helpful to children’s study. Some people say computers have a negative effect on children’s physical and mental development. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Admit it or not, the time children spent on computers is on the ri. Some people say that computers have positive effect on children’s study, while others think that, contrarily, computers can be harmful to children’s physical and mental development.
People with the former idea argue that faced with the vast knowledge of all kinds on the internet, children’s interest in study can be aroud. Moreover, the internet provides children with the latest development of all subjects, which the textbooks can never keep up with. Lastly, computer skill is esntial for people now, and it is certainly better for children to learn to master it earlier.
结婚典礼仪式However, I side with the latter point of view: computers can have a bad effect on children. In the first place, besides knowledge, there is other information which can pervert children on the internet, such as pornography, violence, and so on. As children’s ability of lf-control is poor, tho things may easily lead children to go astray. In the cond place, children may become egoists spending most of their time with computers. With little time to communicate with other, they may gradually lo the abilit
y to get along well with people around them. Lastly, spending much time with computers also can be bad for children’s physical development. It is known to all that computers and televisions are the two main caus of nearsightedness. Besides, children are prone to be obe with long time sitting in front of the computer and little time on sports.
The disadvantages of computer mentioned above are easy to point to a conclusion that computers have more disadvantages than advantages to children. (272 words)
8, Difference between countries has become less evident, so we can enjoy the same films, brands and TV programs. To what degree do you think the disadvantages of this outweigh the advantages?
Ancient people must be astonished if they know that the British watch American films and the Americans wear clothes made in China, becau in their times exotic objects were rarely en in other countries, let alone people in different countries enjoying the same films, brands and TV programmes. It is true that we are going global.
猎人笔记好句Some people hold negative opinions towards globalization in the n that too much importing from foreign countries is a threat to national industry and may lead to the gradual loss of their own traditional culture. Moreover, the characteristics of different countries will fade away if globalization p

However, this view is rather one-sided. To my mind, going global has more advantages than disadvantages to the world as a whole. In the first place, it promotes acquaintance and goodwill between different countr
ies. For example, the “China year” in France provided/constituted an opportunity for the French people to get in touch with China’s fantastic art works, great literature, etc., which arous their interest in Chine culture and thus enhances the friendship between the two peoples. In the cond place, countries can learn from each other and go for the better together. Since each country has its advantages, communication between countries helps them improve what they are backward in. Lastly, instead of leading to the loss of traditional culture, globalization helps to prerve it. In order to be outstanding in world communication, a country must have its unique attraction, which lies in its traditional culture. Therefore, the government of a country should try its best to prerve its traditional culture. If human beings were still confined to the knowledge they knew, our world would not be so fantastic as it is.

4, Nowadays, international tourism is the biggest industry in the world. Unfortunately, international tourism creates tension rather than understanding between people from different cultures. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
International tourism is booming: millions of tourists go to other countries to explore the outside world. Tourism enhances the mutual understanding between the local people and tourists. Some people hold opposite opinions. They think that international tourism caus tension rather than promoting understanding between people from different cultures.
The people holding the latter view suppo that tourists are likely to offend the local people becau of the lack of knowledge of the local customs, which differ from their own. Moreover, tourism inevitably harms the natural resources and the cultural legacy, which may lead to the rentment of the local people.
However, I can hardly asnt to this idea: the above mentioned rarely happens. In my opinion, international tourism does encourage the understanding between people from different countries. For one thing, without going to e for themlves, people may never know what other countries are really like and thus can be misled by hearsay or films and TV programmes, which, more often than n
ot, are one-sided. For instance, one of my American friends told me that most Americans had a strange bias against the Russian people until some young Americans traveled to Russia and saw with their own eyes that the Russians are human beings just like them. Another example is that, with the development of Chine tourism, people outside China start to realize that Chine men no longer have long braids and Chine women’s feet are of normal size now. Secondly, having en the fine scenery or experienced the rich culture of other countries, tourists will have the desire to develop a good relationship with the locals, which certainly contributes to the understanding between them.
In conclusion, instead of causing tension,
international tourism furthers the understanding of people from different countries. (281 words)
7, In the modern world, the school has become unnecessary for children to study. They can u Internet, which has wide information available to children. So that children can study at home instead of at school. To what extent to you agree of disagree?
Arguments:
For: 1. flexibility 2. the disabled 3. more chances for all honology enables… 5. low costs
Against: 1. face-to-face contact 2. egoists, teamwork 3.socialising with peers
Long distance education has existed for a long time, and the rapid development of communication technology enables it to improve greatly, even to parallel with traditional education. People’s opinions towards it vary.

People who are against internet education hold that traditional education is irreplaceable. For one thing, long distance education lacks face-to-face and heart-to-heart contact between teachers and children, which makes the teaching process difficult. For another, studying at home makes children egoistic while studying in a school teaches children team sprit, which is esntial when they start working. Lastly, children are deprived of a great opportunity to socialize with peers if they do not go to school.
Nevertheless, I go for the long distance education. In the first place, the time, place, and cours of study are more flexible for children. They can arrange their cours according to their own schedule and skip the subjects they have already mastered well and work harder on tho they are not very good at. I do not think children at school can enjoy the advantages. In the cond place, so advanced the communication technology is, teachers and children can e each other through the P
C camera and talk to each other on microphones, just like they were in a real classroom. Teachers can also make u of the vast updated information on the internet while children at school only have old-fashioned textbooks. In the third place, long distance education enables children who cannot go to school to receive fine education. For example, disabled children can get the same education as their healthy peers, which can have positive influence over the disabled life long. Long distance education also works for children who are not able to go to school becau of the limited capacity of schools. All the facts lead to the conclusion that children can get better education at home than at school.
Motorized flight is the most important invention in the modern world. Not any other invention has such a significant impact on our lives. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Successfully making the first motorized flight trip, the Wright brothers realized human beings’ dream to fly high in the sky like birds. Since then, our life has changed beyond recognition.
In the first place, motorized flight has minimized the world. In the past, it took weeks to go across China,
and now veral hours on a Boeing 757 or Airbus 340 suffices. With motorized flight, communicatio莼菜银鱼羹
n between cities and countries has been significantly improved. People are provided with a convenient and speedy way to have a look at other parts of the world, which, needless to say, contributes to the strengthening of friendship between countries.

In the cond place, modern flight has greatly stimulated the business industry. For one thing, it enables merchants to go from one city to another, or even one country to another, in a relatively short time. For another, goods can be transported between places much faster than before.
In the third place, the success of motorized flight further arous human interest in exploring the sky. It paved the way for the later exploration into the univer, for instance, the invention of spaceships, the landing on the moon, the trip to Mars, etc.
However, motorized flight also has some side effects. To name just one, when it is ud for military purpos, it leads to the intensity of the war. We cannot forget that the first atom bomb, which caud a huge number of casualties, was dropped from a plane.
户籍和籍贯有什么区别Although what motorized flight brings is not all good, we have to admit that it is one of the most important inventions in the modern world, which has significant impact on human beings.
If people are asked why students go to university, I believe that many of the answers would be: to find a good job! It is true that job commitment is an important function of higher education. However, I think it has other functions.
For one thing, students learn to be independent in university. For many, if not all, of my schoolmates, entering university is the first time to leave home and live on their own. It is hard for them at first, but to my mind this is certainly an esntial part of one’s life, or el they may continue to receive parental care without getting mature as early as they should.
For another thing, students know better how to get along with people during the four years’ university life. As we know, nowadays, many Chine children are the only child at home and thus unlike people of the previous generations who have brothers and sisters, they know little about how to be tolerant and considerate to people around them. There is no doubt that universities provide us with an opportunity to learn to do s for example, we have to think of others instead of only ourlves when we share a dormitory room with others.
Lastly, besides imparting knowledge, university teachers also tell their students how to be a decent person in the rest of their life. For instance, students may learn how to be generous, think critically,
be responsible for themlves, their family and work, etc. It is not a rare ca for a student to change for the better under the influence of his university teacher.
To conclude, university education does not only prepare the students for a future job, but
also teaches them important things that are to be uful all their life.
Some people say that adults do not need education any more. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Nowadays, instead of going back home, many office workers go to night schools after work. Since they already have a job, why do they pursue further study?
We are living in what is called the age of information explosion, in which you can never learn enough. In many fields, new technologies and information boost out every day, you certainly will be left behind in your area if you do not renew the old stuff you learnt at school or colleges years ago. No wonder so many schools emerge for people at work to “recharge”-, i.e. to keep themlves informed of the newest trends and skills. As branches of learning and labour division become more and more specified in modern society, you have to learn more than you have already known, and that requires continuous study too.
Moreover, competition in modern society is keen. You always have to learn more than your competitors so as to stand out among hundreds of applicants or to remain among the top salesmen in your company. This is like going up stream in a boat: if you do not row hard, there is no hope for you to keep up with others, let alone surpass them, and if you do not struggle on, the water will take you backwards.
Lastly, learning can keep your brain active. Doctors say that if you keep studying, the chance of the deterioration of your brain’s functions can be lesned when you get old.
To conclude, learning throughout life is a must.

Traffic and housing problems in major cities could be solved by moving large companies and factories and their employers to the countryside. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
It is undeniable that traffic and housing problems are becoming more and more prominent in major cities. Take the city I am living in for example: traffic jams in rush hours are a commonplace; millions of workers have to live in low “huts”, and most city dwellers have to spend a large part of their life working to pay for an apartment.
Some people suggest that large companies and factories and their employers should be moved to the countryside as a solution to the problems. This suggestion may work, but I do not think it is the best one.
First, let us look into the caus of the traffic problem. In my opinion, it results not only from the large population but also from the underdevelopment of public transportation, which leads to the growing amount of private cars, a considerably large proportion of the city transport. So, in order to solve the traffic problem, the government has to improve public transportation, the underground for instance, and thus decrea the number of cars running on the road.
Then, let us turn to the housing problem. I do not think the moving of big companies, etc., is feasible. If they are moved out of the city,
