Teachers and headmasters in Chine schools are asked to eat with students in dining rooms at every meal. The new rule was carried out on April 1, 2019.

According to the draft law, restaurants should tell customers not to order too much and they should describe the size of each dish. If they leave too much food uneaten, restaurants can charge (收费) them for food waste.
The draft law also stops waiters from encouraging customers to order too much food. Tho who don’t follow the law will receive a fine from 1,000 to 10,000 yuan.

With this in mind, the government has introduced a new food safety rule that will improve nutrition and health standards in schools.
