Step 1: Warming-up.
  Greet the class as usual.
  Free talk: T:what do you do on weekends?
          S1:I usually do my homework.
          T: what el do you do?
          S1: I sometimes watch TV.
T: Wow,you are really relaxed. But I am very busy. I need to do many chores. Let’s look at the picture and say what chores I need to do.
Step 2. Prentation .
  Show the pictures to teach the phras”take out the rubbish/fold the clothes/make the bed/do the dishes/sweep the floor”by using guessing games.
T: what kind of chores do I do at home? Can you guess?

T: Yes, I I think chores are easy and fun. Now let’s have fun.
    Have students say the chant to practice the phras:
Bed,bed,make the bed; Floor,floor,sweep the floor;Dishes, dishes,do the dishes;Clothes,clothes,fold the clothes;Rubbish,rubbish,take out the rubbish;Chores,chores,I like doing chores.
    Have a talk with students,and then ask them to make a list of things they often do or they are going to do. While students are listing,the teacher can help them to list out the a
nswers on the blackboard.
Do you do any chores at home? What chores do you often do at home? If you don’t ,from now on,help your parents do some chores.
Step 3. Pairwork.
Have students read the chores in 1a and choo some students to say what chores they do at home.
Give students an example and have them talk about the chores in 1a like this in pairs:
A: What chores do you usually do at home?
B: I usually do the dishes. What about you?
A: I usually sweep the floor.
Call veral students to report in class.
Give a summary about couldfor polite requests and practice them.
Make a request politely:(1)Could you plea do sth.?

                        请你不要(做)……好吗?
Step 4.Listening practice.
    Have students look at the chart in 1b and tell them:Peter often helps mother w Peter’s mother is asking Peter for help. Listen and find what kind of chores Peter and his mom will do.
    Then play the tape and ask students to listen to the tape carefully and check the chores that Peter’s mother and Peter do in the chart. Check the answers with students by making dialogues like this:
    T:Who does the dishes,Peter or Mom?
    S: Mom does.
Step 5: practice.
保持英文    Ask two students to read the sample dialogue in 1c. Then have students look at the picture on Page 17 again and find some chores which should be done and ask them to make conversations with their partners.
    Call veral pairs to act out their conversation in class.
Step 6. Summary
  Help students to sum up the usage of could for polite requests.
Step 7. Homework.
  1.Review the usage of”could”for polite requests and make up a conversation.
  2.Write down what chores your family do every day.
  3.Help your family do some chores.
