Recommended Purchas and Special Offers
It is often difficult to get started on Indian club swinging. Everyone has a different need or reason for trying Indian club swinging and it is always recommended to start light and build up to a reasonable weight of club. It takes time to build up strength in the rotator cuff muscles and the small muscles can be easily overworked and injured. It is always recommended to warm-up properly; start light in a training ssion and work up to heavier weight clubs if desired. Thus, club swingers often purcha two or three ts of clubs over a period of time to cover warm-up, training and some heavier work.
Thus, our recommendation for beginners starting to do the big open movements of the British Military style of club swinging or authentic light Indian club swinging is to start with the following clubs:
Ladies: Size 1 or size 2 of the British Military clubs in this catalogue or clubs of a similar weight (circa 1kg maximum, and preferably nearer 0.5kg) or lighter (e.g. IB1, IB2 or IB3). Gentlemen: Size 2 or siz
e 3 of the British Military clubs in this catalogue or clubs of a similar weight (circa 1.5kg maximum, and preferably nearer 0.8kg) or lighter (e.g. IB1, IB2 or IB3) or similar weight but different balance (e.g. V5 or Spaulding ES). Obviously for people with strong builds or for people who have been training then slightly heavier clubs will be preferable.
For anyone a little fragile, recovering from shoulder injuries or older then the V1, V2, V3 or any of the lighter Izzy Barish clubs (IB1 or IB2) are recommended. Often the British Military teardrop clubs (0.25kg) or Long Small from the Colin Hughes Selection (0.7kg) provides suitable clubs with sufficient weight and rotational momentum to start swinging clubs.
