Common problems
Your essay must be an argument. This is especially true for essays with historical account.
It is not enough to give a list of dates or a story about what happened; you must make an argument about why the events unfolded.
mv视频下载Be conci. You will not be able to cover every possible answer to a question, therefore, identify a few key points (no more than 4) and build your argument around them.
Back your claims with evidence. Evidence can come in many forms. For example, illustrative exampl
es, statistical data, quotes from the relevant literature, etc. Make sure
you u the appropriate form of evidence to back up your claims. If you cannot find
evidence to support a point DO NOT make that point. Unsupported asrtions will
make your argument weaker.
Be coherent. This relates to the way your argument is made and how your key points fit together.
o Firstly make sure that all your points are leading in the same direction, i.e. That they are telling a linear and straightforward argument.
o Secondly, make sure that your reader knows how your key points relate to your overall argument.
o Thirdly, make sure that all your points fit together. This means that your points are related to your argument and that they logically follow on from one another.
Signpost your argument. It should always be clear to the reader how your points relate to the question you are answering and the points you have already made. Referencing

2 styles, Harvard and Chicago.
Harvard is a caption within the text of your essay, placed after the relevant quote etc. E.g.
(Baylis and Smith, 2010, p4).
Chicago is footnote styled, e.g. John Baylis and Steve Smith, The Globalisation of World Politics: An Introduction to International Politics, 5th edition (Oxford, Oxford University Press, 2010), p4.
Both styles are acceptable so long as you are consistent. However, I would advi you to u Harvard as it is easier.
