The SFF Committee, which was formed in 1990, has the following objectives:
Complement the formal standards process in any area of the storage industry
which needs prompt attention. SFF projects fall into areas not addresd by
standards committees becau of timing, charter, or other considerations.

Many published specifications have been accepted by an accredited standards
body such as an INCITS (InterNational Committee for Information Technology
Standards), JEDEC (Joint Electronic Devices Engineering Council) or EIA
(Electronic Industries Association).
SFF Committee documentation is distributed on CD to Members and Obrvers.
Each CD_Access mailing obsoletes the previous mailing(s) in that year and the
last SFF CD_Access mailing of each year reprents an archive.
CD_Access documentation contains:
- Mailing for the year-to-date plus all of last year
- The current revision of all the SFF Specifications, as well as any
previous revisions distributed during the current year.
Meeting CD documentation contains:着多音字
- Mailings for the current meeting cycle.
- Copies of Specifications revid during the current meeting cycle.
The latest revisions of SFF specifications can be reached by clicking on
'Specifications' at www.sffcommittee. If there is no copy of an approved
project at the ftp site, a draft has yet been submitted.
When a specification has no acronym designator it is an active project.
C = Canceled The project was canceled, and no Specification was
published.
E = Expired The specification has been published, and the members
voted against re-publishing when it came up for review.
a = archive Ud as a suffix to indicate an SFF Specification which
has been Archived. This specification will always be
available at the ftp site and new development effort
in the subject area shall be done under a new number.
e = electronic Ud as a suffix to indicate an SFF Specification which
has Expired but is still available in electronic form

i = Information A contributed it was not developed as
an SFF project. It is provided for broad review (comments
to the author are encouraged). As the copyright on such
documents is retained by the author, the INF or 'i'
specifications cannot be freely copied for distribution.
The following terms are ud in the titles of specifications:
Ganged: Horizontal layout >=1
Stacked: Vertical layout >= 2 and a Horizontal layout >= 1
Pluggable: Copper or Optical
X: Electrical lanes/channels per cable
Specifications titled with a multiplier of >1X can typically be configured by
the a 25 Gbs 4X could be 4x25 or (2x25+1x50) or The
