controller accumulates AV data of a stream buffer in a stream shunt memory. When the disk is replaced with a new one, a disk recordability detector detects whether or not the
new disk has become recordable. If recordable, a shunted stream write-back ction transfers the AV data held in the stream shunt memory to the new disk.
