Step 1. Revision 1. Revi the usage of “would rather …than…; prefer …to…”. 2. Write them on the Bb. would rather do sth. than do sth. would rather do sth. than sth. like … better than … 第一天上班prefer doing to doing prefer n. to n. prefer to do prefer to do rather than do Step 2. Prentation 1. Ask a question: --- How many students are there on the playground now? --- None. 宝盖头的字有哪些2. Prent the title. 3. Explain the words above. 4. Translate the following ntences. Somebody / Someone is waiting for you at the gate. Is there anyone / anybody in the classroom? Nobody / No one knows the answer. 5. Remind the students that pronouns are ud to refer to people. We u them when we do not know who the person is. We can’t u them to refer to objects. Step 3. Practice (C) 1. Complete Millie’s diary. 2. Check the answers with the class. 3. Ask students to read it by themlves. 4. Ask the questions: (1) Was Daniel happy that afternoon? (2) What did Simon do that afternoon? Step 4. Prentation 1. Say: There is something wrong with my bike/watch/… Today I came to school by bus. (Write this ntence on the blackboard.) 2. Change the ntence above. (1) 改成否定句。 (2) 改成一般疑问句。 3. Differ the words “something, anything, nothing and none”, especially the words between none and nothing. Step 5. Practice (D) 1. Read rules 1, 2 and 3 on Page 35 to the class. 2. Divide the class into four groups to do the exerci. 3. Ask one student at a time to read a paragraph. Repeat the correct answers so that students understand clearly which words are the correct ones. 注意none, nothing, no one的区别: none 可以和of 连用,其它的不能和of礁组词连用; none 与all 反义。 none用法补充:none既可指人,也可指物,它只是指在一定范围内,代替上下文已出现过的名词。none可指没有人或没有东西,在句中作定主语或宾语。作主语时,谓语动词可用单数,也可用复数。 nothing表示“没有什么东西”,只能指物,不能指人,同时没有任何限制。 no one贻害无穷(=nobody) 一般用来指人,使用时不受一定范围的限制。 Step 6.
