the performance of this method with traditional ones. Results show that SNDWI is
better than NDWI and suitable for applying to the waterline extraction.手工发饰

1Introduction
A shoreline is defined as the physical interface of land and a(Dolan et al.,1991; Gens,2010).The changes of the shoreline position are mainly caud by two factors:(i)natural activities, such as asonal storms and catastrophic winds,near-shore waves and currents,a level ri and other astronomical and meteorological factors (Pugh,2004);and(ii)anthropogenic factors. In many countries, especially developing countries, most people live by the a.Human activities include near-shore engineering, construction of docks and dams, land reclamation and other socio-economic activities. Some natural incidences lead to short-term(usually less than one year)changes of the shoreline, such as a-level changes, indicating the magnitude of the variability over the cour of a y
ear and so enable coastal management authority to define and establish protected shore areas. On the other hand, the long-term(usually more than three year) changes caud by deposition and erosion as well as human activities reveal a definite
