A Book Review
The Old Man and the Sea was the last major work of fiction produced by Hemingway and published in his lifetime, which is about an old fisherman named Santiago. The story is that Santiago fight with the sharks on the return voyage after he subdued the marlin.
As the time goes on, the frail old man was not so quick on fishing that he can’t do very well as before, especially since his wife was dead. There was just a little boy who adored the old man and believed him would catch a big fish one day. After veral days, the little
boy began to study fishing from the old man. One day, A big fish came into the old man’s view in the ocean. He made up his mind to fight with the big fish and do everything he can to defeat it including cutting the other fishing lines. He succeeded in catching it after a fight of life and death. Unfortunately, sharks, drawn by the fish’孕妇能吃甘蔗吗s blood, soon come to the boat. Although the old man tried his best to kill the sharks, the sharks ate flesh down to the bone of the big fish.
From the story, we can e how brave the old man is. Although he was old enough to fish, he never still stop fishing. In the face of the sharks, he never still gave up killing them and protecting his prey.
At the end of the story, there were only some fish bones. The old man felt so tired that he fell asleep as soon as he ttled his body in the bed. He can only find the happy old days in a dream, but he still can’t forget the harsh reality.
