With the new a routes and the great geographical discovery at the end of 15th century, the European countries got an unprecedented opportunity to develop their economy. Most of them grasped this opportunity to explore the world in order to get wealth as much as possible. The earliest two countries were Portugal and Spain, which were fond of missionizing and trying to covert Asian and American to Christian, when they joined forces with a band of external expansion and contested colonies. The wealth that they robbed was not put on the construction of economy but for extravagant, which caud the gold going into the western European countries, such as Netherlands, England and France. The countries were the eds of capitalism firstly sprouting up in established varieties of methods of conducting trade, such Dutch East India Company and the Honourable East India Company. They ud the gold that was earned from Iberian Peninsula to plunder much more wealth. Britain established the Church of England and encouraged the pirates to rob Spanish merchant ships for the improvement of competitiveness. It dreadfully violated the interests of the earliest maritime hegemony. Fo
r Spain, it was intolerable, so it nt its navy called Invincible Armada to attack England. But England defeated it and enforced the cohesion of English people.
This war became a watershed. Since then, Spain lost the hegemony at a, while England jumped into the a, izing colonies everywhere and defeating other competitors to develop the trade. It laid the foundation for the further development of British capitalism. The capitalism got the smooth development and eventually the constitutional monarchy was t up in Britain.
II. An Overview of the War and the Result
In the 16th century the government of England encouraged the pirates to rob the ships of Spain and to attack the ports in Spain and its American colonies, “all the while encouraging English pirates like Hawkins and Drake to ize Spanish ships and goods in the West Indians. Drake was dubbed by the Spanish ‘the master Thief of the Unknown World’.”1 “According to statistics, Britain at least got 12, 000, 000 pounds from it.”2 Tho
policies damaged the profits of Spain, the most powerful country at that time, so it nt its navy called Invincible Armada to attack England.  By May of 1588, however, the Spanish Armanda was finally ready to sail. The fleet numbered over 130 ships, making it by far the greatest naval fleet of its age.3 Eventually, England defeated it and began to ri sharply. The speed of the primitive accumulation of capital greatly accelerated, promoting the development of British capitalism.
海字A. The Reason for the War
Spanish Naval Expedition Against England was one of the most important wars in European history, which determined the political situation of the early modern Europe. Many factors made the war break out.
First, Spain thought it was the owner of the a, having robbed much gold from the new world, and had an extremely powerful navy called Invincible Armada. So if England wanted to be strong, Spain would be the first competitor that should be defeated. It was the basic reason.
Second, the religion reform made England get rid of the control of the Pope, and England helped other countries do it, while Spain was still the traditional Christian supporter. “In 1572, more than 3000 puritans were killed in London, which made Elizabeth unable to tolerate it and had to fight against Spain.”复沓读音4 The Pope of Rome had good relationship with the king of Spain, so what did England do made Spain unsatisfied.
