On a sultry summer day, I was waiting anxiously outside the dorm for a bus to come and take me to the library. Normally every ten minutes or less I would hear the sound of the bus’s brakes coming down the hill not far away, but this time it had been much longer without any sign of the approach of a bus. I had had enough, so I went to campus curity to e what was up. The guard told me that during the summer holiday there’s only stripped-down bus rvice, which stopped at 11:30 in the morning and at 5:00 in the afternoon. I gaped in disbelief. Now what was I going to do? The campus is huge, and by no means flat; it would take at least half an hour to walk to the gate. And under the fierce summer sun, it was definitely going to be a challenge!
At this time I really misd the hard-working campus bus drivers. Their personalities varied widely: some were willing to chat and joke with you, and gave you a n of their love for their profession. At every stop, they’d get up to help the students put their bags in place, repeating phras like, “Move down inside the
bus! Farther inside! You, with the hat! Plea move down inside a bit.” Then in English, “Go back, pleas
草书书法入门e! Understand? Thank you!” Whenever this kind of dialog took place, the students on the bus couldn’t help but burst into laughter. The drivers love to talk, and especially love chatting with foreign students. We’d often discuss common characteristics and cultural differences among different countries. Then there are other drivers who keep to themlves, preferring to play music instead. The quiet atmosphere of the bus ride is enjoyable in a different way, like the pattering of raindrops on the window on a rainy day.
The last bus of the day at 10 pm is an “attraction” in its own right. Whether you’re just finishing a late dinner, or have been studying at the library, it’s always a race for the last bus, so it’s by far the liveliest of the whole day. The driver of this trip will kindly encourage the students, “Move down inside! All aboard!” They understand what the last bus means to the students; they’ve been busy all day, and can finally return to their dorms and rest for the night. Although it’s packed like sardines, everyone’s really happy,
with a slight n of achievement— “I’ve made it!”
有意思的校巴司机

校园内的公交大巴是武大的特色之一，本校人只需要付1块钱就可以乘车兜风。
有一次烈日炎炎，我在留学生宿舍旁眼巴巴地等校巴去图书馆。一般来说，十分钟之内就能听到校巴
从不远处下斜坡时的刹车声，但这次半天一点动静都没有。我再也忍不住了，就问保安叔叔到底是什么情况。他告诉我，暑假期间只有值班班车，上午到11:30，下午到17:00。我当时就楞了，怎么办？！武大校园那么大，从宿舍到校门口上坡下坡，走路至少要半个小时。在灼热的阳光下，这确是个挑战！
这个时候我无比想念勤劳的司机。他们性格各异：有的开朗幽默，你会感受到他们对自己职业的热爱。每次到站后，他们都会站起来帮助学生把箱子放好，还不停地重复：“往里走！往里走！你！戴帽子的！请你往里面走，Go back,plea!你懂吗？Thank you!”每当这时，所有学生都被逗得大笑不止。他们非常爱说话，更喜欢跟留学生聊天儿。我们经常会一起讨论各个国家的共同特点和每个国家的文化独创性。有的司机则非常沉默，更喜欢播放音乐，坐他们的校巴是另一番雨水轻敲玻璃窗的宁静之感。
每天十点钟的末班车也是一“景”。无论是吃完饭的，还是刚下晚自习的，都会匆忙挤上末班车，校巴里无比热闹。这时司机都会善意地鼓励学生：“往里走走！都上来吧！”因为他们能够理解末班车对学生来说意味着什么，忙了一天，最后可以安安心心回到宿舍。虽然挤得水泄不通，但是大家都超级开心，有小小的成就感：我赶上了！
