摘要：A gas spring (10) with a aling and bearing asmbly (12) received within a casing (14) of the gas spring adjacent to a rod (16) slidably received through the asmbly (12) for axial reciprocation. The asmbly (12) has an annular retaining ring (40) received within the casing (14), an annular bearing (70) with a throughbore through which the rod (16) reciprocates carried by the retaining ring (40), an annular retainer (80) carried by the retaining ring (40) downstream of the bearing (70), and a aling member (90) received within the retaining ring (40) adjacent to the retainer (80) and in firm engagement with the rod (16) and retaining ring (40) to provide a gas-tight al between the rod (16) and the retaining ring (40) to prevent the escape of gas from the gas spring (10). The retainer (80) preferably has a dovetail flange (86) extending therefrom and the aling ring (90) has a complementarily shaped recess (92) molded or press-fit onto the flange (86) to attach the aling ring (90) to the retainer (80).
