13. defend vt. 辩解，辩白；防御，保护（n. defence）

15. upt adj. 不高兴的，失望的

be upt to do… 因做……而生气 be upt that … 心烦……

② Debbie was upt that he didn’t spend more time with her.
vt. 使不高兴，使失望 Don’t do anything that would upt him.
【辨析】upt nervous
upt (unhappy and worried becau something unpleasant or disappointing has happened)
nervous (worried or frightened about something, and unable to relax)
