13. defend vt. 辩解,辩白;防御,保护(n. defence)

vt. 使不高兴,使失望 Don’t do anything that would upt him.
【辨析】upt nervous
upt (unhappy and worried becau something unpleasant or disappointing has happened)
nervous (worried or frightened about something, and unable to relax)
