1.Scope
This document describes the line coupler ction of the IT700 AFE (Analog Front End). The coupler includes a coupling transformer developed by Hitachi according to Yitran’s requirements. This transformer provides the insulation between the mains and the low voltage ction. The line coupler is part of the PSU (Power Supply Unit) of Yitran’s IT700 development tools and is not included in the PIM (Plug In Modules) or STK (Starter Kit) board.

2. Line Coupler Description
2.1 Single and Triple Pha Connection
The coupler consists of four parts: a transformer, two MOSFETs, a capacitor and resistor as described in the following figure:

The following scheme can be ud to couple the signal to 3 phas simultaneously:

The components for the 3-pha coupler are the same as tho ud in the single-pha coupler, therefore C3=C2=C1, R1=R2=R3 and the transformer, MOSFETs and Zener diode are the same. The values of the components are detailed in the following ction.
*The Line Coupler’s design supports two optional input voltage levels, either 90V-265V or 90V-440V.
Plea refer to the Line Coupler BOM in Section  3 for the appropriate list of components required for each voltage level.
** Note: the Line Coupler’s MOSFETs may be removed from the design if the MOSFETs are already
asmbled as a part of the IT700 PIM.
