《难以忽视的真相》捧回奥斯卡奖后，英国政府原计划把这部影片纳入英国学校教育课程，在英格兰和威尔士的3500多所中学展映。
法官伯顿认为，影片看似具备预示灾难的远见，却没有对气候变化作出客观科学的分析，片中夸大成分其实是为突出戈尔对全球变暖的关注。
伯顿因此裁定这部纪录片为“政治影片”。英国法律禁止在学校课堂宣传任何政治观点。

有许多造成全球变暖的人类活动。其中贡献最大的是发电、客运和其它车辆的使用，过度消费，国际航运、森林砍伐、吸烟和军国主义。(例如，美国军队是世界上最大的石油消费者和世界最大的污染源。)

Pie charts never emed as terrifying or hopeful as in 2006’s “An Inconvenient Truth” — Davis Guggenheim’s Oscar-winning documentary about Al Gore’s environmental-evangelism slideshow and how he came to create it.
OK, don’t call it “global warming” if that仿佛的近义词是’s somehow ideologically bothersome. Still, asons are shortening. Glaciers are melting. Temperatures are increasing. C
O2 levels are rising. Population is exploding. There are clear concerns for what mankind expects Earth to do, and the planet isn’t a pair of elastic-waistband pants.
Tho attacking Gore as a misinformed prophet or political crybaby likely never even watched “Truth.” Holding court with the genial wit and warmth of a college professor (and not above coping-mechanism jokes about his failed presidential bid), Gore emphasizes the morals and ethics of his slide content over their politics.
Yes, politics is the tail that wags the dog and Gore realizes policy decisions are critical to countering 40 years of destructive practices. But policies begin with people and their choice to ri above history and complacency through personal change. As Gore puts it, politicians will listen if it’s on the tip of constituents’ tongues.
Convenience can lull people into inactivity, causing high alert only when danger is imminent. It’s human, and Gore isn’t immune to that, as illustrated by past events that drove him to activism only when he felt he could really lo something.
“An Inconvenient Truth” ended not with mad panic, but with practicality — ideas about what we can all do to individually, incrementally work toward reversing the effects.
Certainly a crucial watch—much of the material is crushingly distressing, and a vehement indictment on the denials and carelessness pervading not just America, but the entire world. The title is particularly apt: nobody wants to bother dealing with such grim realities, particularly when the immediate conquences aren’t right in front of their faces, and the dismissive demeanors of the political big-wigs here in the United States just encourage such irresponsible behavior. Global warming is clearly of great importance to former Vice President Al Gore, and he delivers the countless sobering facts with more emotion and passion than the public witnesd during the 2000 Presidential debates (unfortunately for our country). All this said, though, An Inconvenient Truth isn’t much of a film. Most of it feels like a college lecture, complete with the requisite graphs, numbers, and trend charts. While that’s an adequate enough way to get the point across, I can’t h
elp but wonder what the raves for this film are really about. I suspect that much of it comes, subconsciously at least, from the consistent anti-Bush ntiment that permeates throughout the picture. While I’m as ecstatic as any Democrat that we reclaimed the Hou & the Senate, even I found the constant jabs at Bush and his ignorance to be a bit childish and annoying, as accurate as it may be. Too often, the insults appeared to exist solely as cheap shots, without adding anything of merit to the discussion. There are enough (hysterical) Bush-isms on YouTube and limewire—director Davis Guggenheim and Gore should have been above that nonn, and focud on the topic at hand. While An Inconvenient Truth rves as an important message movie, it doesn’t really have much to offer beyond that. Absolutely recommended if you don’t feel like going to a library and reading hours and hours of rearch, or signing up for an Earth Science cour at Columbia…
