Part. Teaching material
1.Status and function
The topic of this unit is about literature and music. Such a topic is related to our daily life, so it’s easy to arou students’ learning interests. As we all know, many students usually have difficulties in writing compositions, some are even afraid to write. Therefore this lesson is in the important position of the teaching material.
2.Teaching objectives
Knowledge objectives
a).To u the information they know to write a passage about their favorite singer or group .
b).To u prent perfect ten “have/has done” to express the success that the singer or writer has achieved and explain why they like this singer or writer best.
Ability objectives
a).To improve listening and writing abilities.
b).To develop the ability of summarizing and beautify common ntences or expressions .
Emotional attitudes and moral values
a).To develop interests in country music and to know more about American culture.
b) Lead the students to learn to relax themlves and color their daily life by listening to different kinds of music. Learn to enjoy the music, enjoy the life and enjoy themlves.
3.Teaching important and difficult points
a).The important point is using right phras and ntence structure they have learned to write a passage about their favorite singers. Finding out key information about the singer and using prent perfect ten to write about success belonging to the singer is another important point.
b).The difficult points are communication with others by writing passages and recommendations for their favorite singer.
4.The analysis of students

reading skills, They would like to share what they know and what they like with others, it’ll be helpful for them to write a passage about their favorite singer or writer.

Lead the students to watch a video: brief introduction about how Taylor Swift has become so successful since 2007 that she has won so many awards and sold millions of records.
Set four basic questions about the video and lead the students to answer.
1. Who is the lady in the video?
2. What kind of music does Taylor Swift sing?
3. When did she first became famous?

Step 2 : Pre-writing( brainstorm)
T: Do you like Taylor Swift and her songs? Check how many of the students like or dislike her. Everyone has his or her favorite singer or group. Do you know how to talk about our favorite singer and recommend he or she to others? How many aspects should we talk about?

Step 3: Pre-writing (pair-work)
T: Do you have your own favorite singer or group? Do you want to know about your partners’ favorite singer or group? Interview your partners by asking the ven basic questions. Lead the students ask and answer questions in pairs and write down the answers on the cards.
